TTA Finalist Awards

We are finalists again to this years TTA award in the category of wall tile of the year.

Awards to be held on the 19th May 2017 in London.

A TTA Award is an outstanding symbol of excellence and the annual event is a fantastic networking opportunity for all involved in tiles and tiling. There are 21 award categories to enter, plus a wide range of sponsorship packages to get your business noticed.

The category emctiles are finalist for is the Tile of the year award – and the tile chosen as finalist is by the tile manufacturers – Ceramica Rodine who have created a masterpiece of modern design based on traditional themes – Bristol Brick

The timeless appeal of classic brick styles from cities across the world has been stunningly captured by a new collection of beautifully crafted look-alike tiles.

All the individual character of bricks from London, New York, Venice and Bristol is now available to interior designers, architects and contractors in an attractive, versatile and affordable product.

The vogue for look-alike tiles has taken the industry by storm in recent years and this innovative new development looks destined for success.

The London brick is inspired by the hand-made bricks fired in a local furnace in the early 20th century.

The surfaces were shaded with a variety of colours as a result of unstable temperatures, which is now reflected in a state of the art porcelain stoneware with genuine character.

Classic colours from New York capture the atmosphere of the Big Apple and bring it to life for designers looking for a chic metropolitan look. White, almond, black and grey outline the details that distinguish the New York neighbourhoods from Brooklyn Heights to the Upper East Side.

The sophisticated and romantic lifestyle of Venice is recreated in the elegant colours and textures of the city’s distinctive architecture. The painstaking production techniques bring a contemporary twist to the appearance  of the tiles. The hallmark of the Venice collection is the result of a process which uses stoneware powder and a percentage of glass. This melts at a lower temperature than classic stoneware and makes it possible to obtain beautifully exclusive glazes.

The cosmopolitan and post-industrial air of Bristol is reflected in the vintage look and feel of the typical brick facades found in the city. The retro details are reproduced in 20 new surfaces, which offer an accurate take on the shades and look of the local materials.

The collection is a particular favourite of Barry Slawson, managing director of the East Midlands based emctiles.

He says: “The development of look alike tiles is one of the most exciting innovations in the industry for more than a quarter of a century and is incredibly successful with all our domestic and contract customers”. This new brick collection takes the genre to a new level.

The astonishing amount of research, technical development and artistic skill which has gone into this new product is credit to the industry as a whole and is something we can all be incredibly proud of.

These products will have a special appeal to architects and commercial contractors because it will allow them to create traditional-looking designs with an easy to manage tile at a fraction of the cost of the original materials, which are now becoming prohibitively expensive. They make a classic look available to everyone for both interior and exterior projects.
